PITCH : The worst thing about writing an introduction is you first have to introduce your introduction. It’s not that I’m looking for a lame excuse to skip it but, doesn’t this complaining sentence gives me every rights to do so ? To move straight forward to my point ? Doesn’t it ?
So, my point is, this home made comic you’re about to read is a direct consequence of someone’s awe inspiring work. Now let’s move 7 years back in time !
I’m in Saint Malo with a fanzine crew, totally tired from the roadtrip while cheap ramen soup are filling my stomach with just enough energy to handle another day of “convention boothing”. Still, I’m too excited to fall asleep and I asked for something to read... and here came my first encounter with his work. It blew my mind.
I realized two things then :
1 : Any comics I had ever read before were like junk food compared to a thousand $ dish in your finest restaurant.
2 : My goal was now crystal clear, I had to tell stories and make a living out of them.
So, I worked as hard as I could, dealing with highs and lows, fighting my own dragons... And I still am in more ways than one.
But I’ll never forget this day and, since he wrote us so many stories, I thought it would be ungrateful not to pay homage and write him one.
